Professor Yuichi Ikeda of the Graduate School of Integrated Human Studies gave an invited lecture at UBRI Connect 2021.
UBRI Connect is an international conference that aims to bring together the world's top scholars, researchers, and thinkers to introduce blockchain initiatives and share academic knowledge, thereby facilitating future research and collaboration. This year (2021), it was held online on October 11th and 12th.
Topics on the conference agenda include decentralized finance (DeFi), smart contracts, blockchain-based applications for social good, blockchain security and governance, and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).
Professor Yuichi Ikeda gave a lecture entitled "Development of a Blockchain-Based Electricity Trading System at Kyoto University" at the Collection of Electricity Charges on Blockchain to Promote Energy Savings session, which was held jointly with Dr. Dorit Aviv of the University of Pennsylvania. This lecture is the result of a joint research project at the Social Innovation Center Blockchain Research Area, in which students Yu Oki and Zelda Marquardt also participated.
